Specialist occupational therapy for children and young people

Our story
Cherif Larbaoui, Founder & Lead Occupational Therapist
I'm a UK-trained, HCPC-registered occupational therapist and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), specialising in paediatric neurodevelopment, autism, sensory integration, and functional independence. I work mainly with children and young people with special educational needs, at the point where a child's strengths, their environment, and the expectations around them all meet: school, home, routines, and everyday participation.
My experience spans NHS community paediatrics, specialist schools, and multidisciplinary diagnostic teams, with earlier roles in stroke and neuro rehabilitation. I'm ADOS-2 trained and contribute to high-quality, multidisciplinary autism assessments aligned with NHS and NICE guidelines. My background in sports and exercise science strengthens my clinical reasoning in postural control, motor planning, and regulation, enabling a more holistic understanding of each child's developmental profile.
My approach is child-centred, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming. I translate detailed clinical assessments into clear, practical, and functional recommendations that families and schools can actually use, across home, school, and community environments.
At Sensphere, we believe that every child and young person has unique strengths and abilities. Our approach is built on core values that guide everything we do:

We put the child or young person at the heart of everything we do, listening to their views and preferences.

We focus on what children and young people can do, building on their existing skills and interests.

We celebrate neurodiversity and work in ways that respect and support different ways of thinking and being.

We work closely with families, schools and other professionals to create a supportive network around each child or young person.
Occupational therapy helps children and young people participate in the everyday activities that matter to them. These "occupations" include:
We believe that the best outcomes happen when everyone works together. Here's how we approach collaboration:
We start by understanding your concerns, your child's strengths and what matters most to your family.
We work with you to set clear, meaningful goals that reflect what you and your child want to achieve.
Sensphere's clinical team is led by a qualified, HCPC-registered occupational therapist. Families, schools and commissioners can review professional registration and qualifications below.

If a child or young person finds these activities challenging, an occupational therapist can help identify why and work with them, their family and school to develop practical strategies and support.
Our recommendations are practical and realistic, designed to be used in everyday life at home and school.
You'll receive a written report with clear recommendations that you can share with schools and other professionals.
